Our staff continue to be represented on various community boards to ensure we understand the trends and needs within our community. Whilst, we are no longer contracted to do this, we believe that community engagement and responding to the needs in our community is critical, given that we are a “community law centre”.
There have been a great number of law changes in the past year that have had a massive impact on the clients of the Waitematā Community Law Centre. We continue to monitor the effects of changes to benefit entitlements, benefit sanctions and employment laws on our clients and provide feedback to government agencies and politicians.
