Outside our catchment?
Areas marked in the shaded area on the map are outside our catchment area. A different Community Law Centre is funded to cover people in these areas:
Live in Central Auckland (Avondale or further east)? Your local CLC is Auckland Community Law Centre.
Live on the North Shore (east of the motorway)? Your local CLC is Auckland Community Law Centre.
Live from Wellsford or further north? Your local community legal Centre is Community Law Taitokerau.
Live anywhere else in Auckland or Aotearoa? Find your nearest Community Law Centre here.
Financial eligibility
Our legal services are funded to support people living within our catchment area who are least able to afford a lawyer.
In most cases, we can provide legal advice if your overall household income is up to the $ amounts listed below.
There may be individual circumstances where you are eligible for advice from us even earning above the amount listed.
Please let us know if you think that might apply to you.
Earn more than our financial eligibility?
Our financial criteria is based on key cost of living measures and set to ensure we are reaching those most vulnerable. It was last updated in August 2026 and benchmarked against other Community Law Centres.
We recognise there will still be many individuals not eligible for our advice service who struggle to afford a private lawyer.
Check our Resources page including the free Community Law Manual.
Find a list of private lawyers who practice in your area - contact us for a current referral list.
Check if you may qualify for Legal Aid - for a family or civil law matter or a criminal matter.
Some Citizens Advice Bureau (CABs) offer free legal advice and do not apply an income test. Find your local CAB here.
